Claiborne Academy Admission Policy

  • To be accepted into PreK-3/4, a student must be (3/4) years old on or before September 30th and must be successfully potty trained.
  • To be accepted into Kindergarten, a student must be five (5) years old on or before September 30th.
  • Grades K-12 applicants for admission are interviewed by the Headmaster. Report card grades and standardized test scores from previously attended schools are also considered and must indicate probable success in the opinion of the headmaster and counselor.
  • Applicants from a public school system who have not passed their appropriate grade level LEAP test are considered at-risk applicants. If all other documentation indicates probable success at CA, the student may be accepted on a probationary status but will be retained at the appropriate public system grade level.
  • Claiborne Academy will not accept a student for admission who is currently under expulsion from any other school. Students not under expulsion but who have poor disciplinary records are considered at-risk applicants.

Admission Process

1. Interview
The admission process begins with an interview with the Headmaster. Both the student and at least one (1) parent must be present in the interview. Appointments for campus visits and/or interviews should be made in advance by calling (318) 927-2747.
Applicants for grades K-12 must bring to the interview 1) the most current report card and 2) current standardized test scores.

2. Application Packets
Application packets are available through the Business Office. The application form and all required documents, including birth certificate, immunization records, and court documents verifying custody (if applicable), must be completed by the custodial parent and/or guardian.

3. Finance Office
If the applicant is accepted for admission, the parents, custodial parent, and/or guardian will meet with the Business Manager to complete financial arrangements.

Claiborne Academy, admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, disability, national, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

 

Claiborne Academy Tuition Payment Policy

REGISTRATION FEES (Non-Refundable)

Registration and Fees must be paid at the time of registration

TUITION

Tuition may be paid in one of the following methods:

  1. Annual Payment due July 1– receives a $200 discount
  2. Semi Annual Payment due July 1st and Jan 2nd – receives a $100 discount
  3. Ten (10) Equal monthly payments beginning August 1st to May 1st
  4. Twelve (12) Equal monthly payments beginning August 1st to July 1st
  • CA contracts are issued on an annual basis. All accounts must be current in order to be eligible to re-enroll for the upcoming school year.
  • All tuition and fees are made payable to Claiborne Academy, Attn: Business Office. Monthly tuition payments must be mailed or delivered to the school’s business office by the 1st of the month. Monthly statements WILL NOT be mailed. The front office will not be responsible for collecting payments.
  • Monthly tuition payments not paid within 10 days (10th of the month) are considered delinquent. A LATE FEE of $20 will be added for each additional month said account is in arrears.
  • There is a Returned Check Fee of $20 for each returned check.
  • Students whose accounts are in arrears will have a hold placed on all progress reports, report cards, and all other student information. In addition, students in grades 7-12 will be excluded from taking their mid term or final exams and their class grade is marked incomplete until all debts are cleared and the exams taken.
  • Exemption rule for taking mid term and final exams will not apply to the student whose account is past due.
  • A student’s account must be current to participate and / or be eligible in activities for the upcoming school year (Cheerleading, spring football, softball, etc.)
  • It is understood that by signing the contract, you are aware that in the event of withdrawing from Claiborne Academy you are financially liable for a full semester of tuition.
  • In the event that a student chooses to leave CA, a withdrawal form MUST be filled out in the business office. All financial obligations must be met prior to a student’s records being forwarded to another school. If a student withdraws from school or is dismissed, then the entire semester of tuition is due to the school.
  • Payment for lunch, if ordered, is due daily in the homeroom. Students also have the option to purchase a meal card.
    • $6 for a daily Meal
    • $120 for 20 Meals
    • $450 for 84 Meals (Semester)
    • $750 for 170 meals (Annual) Only Annual meal cards may be included in tuition payments.
  • Menus are available at the beginning of each month and is posted on the Lunch Menu page.
